The Logical Blog by IconLogic SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 In an ideal world, your Captivate projects would be kept to a respectable number of slides (fewer than approximately 100). If you publish your Captivate projects as SWFs, you can combine multiple SWF files into one lesson using the Aggregator. Once added to an Aggregator project, you can publish the combined files as a SWF, EXE file, PDF or HTML.
The published Aggregator file will include a TOC using the names of the separate SWF files. By Kevin Siegel. The Logical Blog by IconLogic OCTOBER 5, 2010 The moment a learner clicks the link to start your eLearning lesson published using Adobe Captivate, you are in control over what the learner sees as they are waiting for the lesson to begin to play, and how long they have to wait before the lesson starts. In fact, the learner will have to wait for a specific percentage of the SWF to downloaded. You can use any of the following formats as a Preloader: jpeg, gif, bmp, wmf or swf. Looking to learn Adobe Captivate 5? The Logical Blog by IconLogic SEPTEMBER 28, 2010 by Kevin Siegel When I teach my RoboHelp class, one of the RoboHelp features that most excites my students is RoboHelp's ability to import eLearning lessons published by Adobe Captivate.
' Instead of a topic in RoboHelp going on and on for paragraph after paragraph, why not simply explain the concept in a few sentences and then let the Captivate video do the talking? Insert the Captivate video into the topic by choosing Insert Adobe Captivate Demo. Upside Learning JUNE 3, 2010 Unlike screen capturing tools, the published output is not just a passive video, but is in a fully interactive format such as Flash SWF. Adobe Captivate is one such popular tool for developing guided or exploratory software simulations. Here we just wrote about the Adobe Captivate CS5 which is the part of recently released Adobe eLearning Suite 2.
Previously when I discussed freeform and template-based rapid content authoring tools, I kept software simulation tools aside. Adobe Captivate AUGUST 26, 2010 In previous versions of Captivate, for this feature to work, Flash needs to be installed on the same machine from where you want to export.
This will show a Export dialog in Captivate unlike the earlier versions which show an Import dialog inside Flash. Clicking on export will export the Captivate project to a FLA file. Along with the FLA file, any dependent SWF files or ActionScript files will be placed in the same folder as the FLA file.
Extending Captivate How do. ELearning Cyclops FEBRUARY 7, 2010 I will note that I will keep Captivate in my toolbox, as it is more effective for developing software/application simulations than building them from scratch in Flash. Of course any sims developed in Captivate (also SWF files) can easily be included, or launched from, a course developed with Flash. Back when I first started developing e-learning courses, I used Macromedia's Authorware. For more interactive elements, I used Flash and imported the SWFs into Authorware.
